The largest country in Africa in terms of area Algeria, which is the most populous Nigeria. The smallest country is considered Gambia. Most economically developed South Africa. Historically particularly interesting countries are Egypt with the ancient pharaohs and Sudan. Here was the mysterious kingdom of Kush, which was at times as powerful as the Egyptian pharaohs. Mali was the largest trading center in the world in the Middle Ages. Ethiopia and Kenya are considered the cradle of humanity. Namibia contains the oldest desert area on earth. The most extensive rainforests can be found in the Republic of the Congo.
