How can I earn from pencil sketches

Pencil drawings

FOREWORD TO THE PENCIL DRAWINGS

Work on "Young Kingfisher", pencil drawing, 140x200 cm

Pencil drawings are for me an expression of an inner process that never ends because the mind keeps generating new ideas. I myself started drawing because I was looking for exactly that expression, something that this world RICHER and "COLORFUL" makes. Enlivens people, inspires them, enchants them ...
I believe that INDIVIDUAL Well-being basically depends on whether we can develop, implement our ideas, and even follow our creativity. The pencil drawing opened many doors in me, Because we all know the impossible advice from our childhood: You can't do that, others can do it better, better do this or that, then you get ...

The consequences...

This then quickly becomes deep within Belief: I can't draw, I can't sing, I can't ... I'll be rewarded if I ...

Thereby means To draw But not to draw like others, but to draw is a process of self-discovery, finding one's own expression, how one see the world for interpreted!

So drawing is non-verbal communication, on a deeper level, outside of the mind, logic - on the emotional level. We are inspired and motivated by a wonderful work of art to live your own creativity, Ideas and visions arise and the process begins:

The fascination of pencil drawing has its basis in the simple and at the same time great.

Creativity is primarily about self-discovery, testing the possibilities, working with them in order to break new ground.

"Camouflaged", pencil drawing, 140x200 cm

Since many centuries the pencil drawing exerts a captivating and impressive effect, even magic on people.
Drawing comes from signs, i.e. setting signs, communicating something, giving a message.

In this sense, a written word is also a kind of “drawing”.
I believe that captivating effect is based on the simplicity of the pencil: you don't need anything else,
no filling and no connecting, whether warm or cold, the pencil can therefore be used universally.

It is precisely because the pencil is so simple that it is so incredibly fascinatingwhat can be achieved with this medium.
I'm talking about the expressive effect of the drawing, its secret, its fascination, its unfathomable.

I have this fascination once described like this:
Imagine you get up early, I mean very early, and go for a walk in the forest, the fog still hugs the forest,
Colors are still not recognizable
it is one wonderful mood of calm and peace,as if life is about to awaken. You stop and feel this wonderful magic.

When I was in London in 2012 was present at the world's largest Leonardo exhibition in the National Gallery up to that point, I was drawn even more into the fascination of drawing.
Wonderful cardboard boxes with his Madonna pictures, which are relatively well preserved to this day.

Before that, of course, queuing was announced ...

Then this abundance, drawing fans will understand what I'm raving about ...

2. My way to pencil drawing

You can already see here the genius: Drawings are thoughts that have become visible, so they show what is going on in the draftsman's mind.

You get to know a person through what he has created. That is his own footprint, that is the expression of his being.
Just as you recognize the author's spirit in a book,
in a movie the Character of the performer, so you see in a drawing what was of the greatest importance to the creator.

At the age of 40 I was faced with the challenge of reorienting myself: I love nature and wanted to create something that shows my love for nature.

But what should I do?

One thing was clear:

I wanted to create, excite and inspire!Implement ideas, try new ways and go along with them. Seeing life as a challenge, seeing life as a process and understanding the whole.

Aren't we all somehow longing to express ourselves?

"Great Gray Owl III", pencil drawing, 140x200 cm

After an activity that we can use to express our feelings and ideas ...

My path was not an easy one, but was and is exciting. There were and are valleys and every day is new. Every day I decide what to make of it.

Today I am proud of what I have achieved: my pencil drawings delight many people and are a reminder of the beauty of nature. You inspire people to live out their creativity again, To take time for yourself, even to gain experience.

At the same time I teach and pass on my knowledge, because many want to learn this art of drawing. In my new Online drawing courseI will go into the photo-realistic drawing technique using the example of the human eye and explain exactly how you can create works of art with a draw a wonderful 3-D effect.

Do you know what fascinates me most about pencil drawing?

The transition, when the pencil drawing begins to "live", when it radiates something, what upsets the words ...

It's an incredibly nice feeling when the animals are in Process of Drawing come alive. It's like magicto create something on a white sheet of paper that was previously invisible!

Many people ask me about the patience I have to draw pencil drawings that are over 2 m in size.

The answer is:

It is love, the devotion to what you are doing, that is fully involved and for me the pencil drawing is the visible one Expression of this love.

Without a passion it is not possible to create something that affects people strongly. Many inventors share this spirit. They experiment, discard, reassemble and try to create something that wasn't there before.

Drawing is also trying, discard, erase, overdraw, try again, learn learn learn ...

As a child, I had great fun experimenting, and my love for observing things was already very strong back then.

3. How you live your creativity!

The joy of drawing and creating are the most important prerequisites for learning to draw. Learning in the sense that you find your own way, your own individual expression.

Only then is learning a joy and also a creative process.

You then do it to grow, to become better, to make what is on your mind visible!

The necessary discipline goes hand in hand with your goal, between a sketch and a perfectly elaborated pencil drawing there are an infinite number of nuances.

So an important question is: what do you want to achieve?

In my new drawing coursedo you learnStep by step the photo-realistic drawing techniquefrom the human eye. You get to themany videos also worksheetswith guidelines so that yousafely guidedwill and experience the technology that I use for mine2m pencil drawingshave applied! The eye is the most drawn object in the art scene because you need itwith every person or animal portrait.Everything stands and falls with him!

4. How to open the door to your creativity!

You think you can't draw, you are not good enough?
Let's take a quick look at the past:

Our creativity was often strongly influenced by school or family and replaced by success, reputation and earning money, learn something "sensible", that is, to meet certain criteria and requirements of the system.

In this sense, our creativity was curtailed and thus suppressed, so we lost the expression of ourselves, were made "suitable".

As a result, we are often inclined assigning our creativity to an achievement, classifying it as good or bad, right or wrong. This creates a certain imprint, but that doesn't mean that we have this Embossing cannot change and can learn to find our own way and to walk too.

That's best to doby not judging or cheating on others, blaming them, but concentrating on yourself and treading a new path:

Learn NOW, make your own decisions NOW.

5. Learn to observe

Probably biggest challenge With realistic pencil drawings, it is observation, i.e. seeing what is really there, and not what we think of: this is how it should look ...

Because the hand can only do what you tell it to do. So you can just draw what you see (first in the mind) and then doing it by hand. So the hand is your tool.

It is not easy to describe this path here in words, many things result from direct action, knowledge only comes through repetition and then results the big picture.

You can tell a lot about pencil drawing, but only then you do it, do it, you know what drawing means. In a certain sense, drawing also serves to free the mind from all conventions.

Here's a tip learn to observe correctly: the Indians call it "Owl Look", they capture the whole environment and keep everything in view, only when something is moving do they focus more precisely - so nothing escapes them. Try it the next time you are in nature, you will perceive the finest movement! That too is for drawing is essential.

6. You absolutely need this for great pencil drawings

  1. Pencils
  2. Pencils degrees of hardness
  3. eraser
  4. Blurring tools
  5. sharpener
  6. Good drawing paper
  7. lighting

I only touch on all topics briefly here, I have detailed information in the Drawing course "Drawing eyes made easy" summarized, so that you can find the best materials for you.

Take a closer look

1. Pencils

I use the 6 angular ones, because they stay where you put them and do not roll off the table.
To be relaxed and focused To work, wood and lead should form a unit, that is, they should be easy to sharpen and well connected to the wooden body.

Since I sharpen frequently, the lead must be robust and the clay graphite mixturevery clean be processed.

I have often seen the pens start scratching on the paper and thereby spoil the pencil drawings.

Imagine this happening on a 2m drawing! that's incredibly annoying.
Since then, I've been using Faber Castell, a family company that knows what it's doing.
Special feature and the most important argument for me: If they fall down, the mine rarely breaks inside and you can continue to sharpen it perfectly.

In the drawing course "Drawing eyes made easy" I will give you a comprehensive insight into the drawing materials I use for my more than 2 m tall drawings. Over many years I have put them together and thus crystallized out what you really need create incredible 3-D drawings.

2. Pencils degrees of hardness

Here I will show you the most important degrees of hardness:

From 9 B (Black) pen, so very soft and dark, up to 4 H. (Hard), very hard and bright!

Here is an example:

The darkest areas in the beech are with one 6B pencil, the brightest with one 2 H Pencil drawn.

"Copper beech" Pencil drawing

3. Eraser

Erasing is frowned upon in certain circles, but that has never interested me.

In addition to correcting, I also use erasing for effects, for delicate transitions, for the finest hairs, because with a pure pencil drawing you don't have a white pen and you have to be creative how you can best represent what you see!

In the picture you can see two eraser pens, one 2 mm, the other 4 mm and a plasticine.

The plasticine is really great because it can be shaped as desired and shaped precisely for your needs.

They used to take fresh bread ...

If my article helps you, I would be very happy if you leave me a short positive comment at the bottom or write what your findings are.

4. Blurring tools

By blurring you educate 3 D effects and give your pencil drawing the necessary depth:

You start with a layer, smear it and build up your pencil drawing step by step, so you put many layers on top of each other and relate them to each other, so that one harmonious overall picture arises.

5. Sharpener

Quick and clean sharpening is very important so that you can draw fluently and are not disturbed in your flow.

Here you can see the first part of the material list that you take with you for the drawing course "Drawing eyes made easy"receive. Here I have even linked the best drawing materials for you, so that you get the very best results.

6. paper

Drawing paper, also called cardboard for thicker paper, is the base material for your pencil drawings.

Whether as a block, rolled up or individual sheets: Always make sure that the grammage is sufficient for your projects!

"Grammage" indicates the thickness of the paper.

That means: you can use almost anything for sketches. More precise selection is recommended if you want to achieve durable pencil drawings or even plan for exhibitions and sales. I prefer all gradations from 170 g / m² to 400 g / m² (very thick).

On my Socials you find out regular tips, I am happy when you are here subscribe to my channel:

What has happened to me a lot:

I take thin paper and am so busy with the pencil drawing in the process that I work out the drawing more and more and then notice: The paper is drawn through!

I do not recommend working below 170g / sqm.

7. Lighting

Often underestimated, but immensely important!

To really long and fatigue-free To be able to draw, you simply need good light, preferably daylight lamps.

Here's one that is really awesome:

  1. 6 levels of brightness
  2. 3 light colors
  3. Easy on your eyes
  4. With USB connection

8. Findings

The pencil drawing is an independent and recognized genre, fully drawn, it has long been an independent work of art.

Her fascination comes from her inherent effect combined with this simple yet effective medium, the pencil.

From the beginning it was important to me to create complete works of art, to draw liveliness, and thus the viewer to lead into a magical world.

The link of material, tools and knowledge result in a unique mixture and create a field of tension that looks for its equals.

As I mentioned above, you have to The magic of pencil drawing have experienced, both when looking at and when draw yourself.

If my article helped you further, I would be very happy if you would leave me a short positive comment at the bottom,

Many Thanks!
