Bajaj's Pulsar series is one of the two-wheel maker's most popular motorcycles that continues to sell well, and the Pulsar 150 is one of the series' models that is a standout choice in the 150cc segment. Factors such as high performance, sporty design, impressive fuel consumption and lucrative pricing contribute to the success of the Bajaj Pulsar 150 with rear absorbers.
The Bajaj Pulsar 150 was the undisputed leader in the 150-160cc motorcycle segment in India with an almost untouchable fan base selling up to 65,000 motorcycles each month. And now Bajaj would like to repeat this success in the 125 cm³ segment with the new Bajaj Pulsar 125, the new entry-level model of the Pulsar family. It is the cheapest model in the Bajaj Pulsar range and has a 125 cc engine. So it's mostly a commuter bike, but has the “exciting personality” that the larger Pulsar models are known for. Will Bajaj achieve similar success in the 125cc motorcycle segment with the new Pulsar 125? We've had some time in the saddle to understand what the new Bajaj Pulsar 125 has to offer.

Design and functions
The Pulsar 125 looks more or less identical to the Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon. And that's because almost every single component is shared with the larger Pulsar 150 Neon. It is also exactly the same dimensions and shares almost every single body panel, component, chassis and even bicycle part with the Pulsar 150 Neon. At first glance, you might even be fooled into thinking that this is the Pulsar 150 Neon, apart from the slightly different color schemes and the subtle 125 graphics in the rear area. The partly analog, partly digital instrument panel, the attachable handlebar and even the wheels are identical to the Pulsar 150 Neon.
With a curb weight of 140 kg, the Pulsar 125 is the heaviest motorcycle in the 125 cm³ segment
So is that a good thing or a bad thing? Pulsar 150 Neon owners might not like that, but the fact is, the Pulsar 125 looks bigger and more muscular than anything else in its segment. With a curb weight of 140 kg, it is heavier than any other 125 cc motorcycle and, at 1,320 mm, has the longest wheelbase in its segment. In fact, its unique selling proposition is that it promises to provide similarly responsive performance as its bigger siblings in the Pulsar family. But street presence is one thing, and ultimately it's performance, ride quality, affordability and running costs that make up the winners in this segment. As such, the Pulsar 125 may need more than just traditional and pulsar design with a slightly smaller motor.
Performance, ride and handling
The motor is derived from the Pulsar 150, so it has exactly the same bore of 56 mm, but with a shorter stroke of 50.5 mm; The Pulsar 150 motor has a bore and stroke of 56 mm x 60.7 mm. The engine develops 11.8 hp at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 11 Nm at 6,500 rpm. And it is the most powerful 125 cc motorcycle currently for sale. Thanks to the counterweight, it's sleek and refined. Right from the start, the Pulsar 125 feels peppy and is eager to reach speeds to keep up with the traffic. Eighty kilometers per hour is achieved without the engine showing any signs of stress, and in some properties it can safely go over 100 km / h.
The 124.4 cc single-cylinder engine with 11.8 hp and 11 N is the most powerful in its class
Prices for the Bajaj Pulsar 125 start at £ 64,000 (ex showroom, Delhi) for the basic drum brake variant
