Which baby registers give free things

Birth certificate - first notarization - notification

You have had a child. You have already chosen a name. Now you need a birth certificate. You can obtain this from the registry office in whose district your child was born. In addition to the chargeable birth certificates for your records, you will receive a total of 3 free certificates for various purposes (parental allowance, child benefit, health insurance).

requirements

  • The birth of your child must be recorded at the registry office in the place of birth.
    • If your child is born in a Berlin hospital or birth center, the facility notifies the responsible registry office and sends the birth announcement.

    • If your child is born at home, midwives, obstetricians and doctors issue the birth certificate. You must then personally present this to the responsible registry office within one week.

You can obtain the form for displaying first names and the explanation of the family name from us at the hospital, birth center or registry office. You can also write the declaration yourself informally. However, your signatures (both parents) are important.

The collection of the finished documents is also possible upon presentation of a power of attorney.
Relatives in a straight line (grandparents / parents / children) receive the certificates even without a power of attorney.
