In the 2020/21 winter semester, the M.A. course “Global European Studies” will start at the University of Konstanz.
The course leads to the M.A. Course of study “Cultural Foundations of Europe” (KGE). You can find more information about KGE here.

about the course
"Three questions to - students report" - this is the name of the series of interviews on the Konstanz online portal for study choice (KOS). For the first time, students from the M.A. program "Cultural Foundations of Europe" are also taking part in the project - three! In the short video clips, Franziska, Tabea and Tomke report on their reasons for choosing a course, their experiences and impressions of studying in Konstanz and non-European countries, the university location Konstanz and their prospects for the time after graduation. In the interviews, you will find out firsthand what characterizes the course in the Master’s program "Cultural Foundations of Europe" at the University of Konstanz and what makes it a particularly enriching experience. KGE alumna Paula Landes
With Paula Landes, the first female graduate of the master’s course "Cultural Basics of Europe" takes part in the interview series "#traumjob - Ways into working life. Alumni reports" Paula was a first-year KGE student who started her master's degree at the University of Konstanz in the 2008/2009 winter semester. She spent her semester abroad at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. Paula is currently working as a freelance communications consultant. We are very happy about her participation in the project and wish her all the best for the future!

M.A. Cultural foundations of Europe
Studying Europe from a global perspective - that has been possible for 10 years now in the Master’s course "Cultural Foundations of Europe" (KGE) at the University of Konstanz. We would like to celebrate this occasion with you: On Saturday, July 6th, 2019, the degree program will host an anniversary celebration in Konstanz under the motto #kgeconnected, which will also be the first KGE alumni meeting and the kick-off of the new KGE alumni Network is. During the celebrations, you can get to know the multi-faceted M.A. program in Konstanz and talk to students, alumni and the course team in a relaxed atmosphere. Various program formats, exhibitions and a quiz in the framework program as well as a theater performance promise an informative and entertaining program with something for everyone.

Dr. K. H. Eberle Prize 2018
The Dr. This year, the K. H. Eberle Foundation goes to the Konstanz cultural scientist Prof. Dr. Kirsten Mahlke, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Nicolas Detering and Prof. Dr. Albrecht Koschorke for her concept for the establishment of a cultural studies research center "Cultures of Europe in a Multipolar World Order" with an international focus at the University of Konstanz.
The public award of the award by the board of Dr. The K. H. Eberle Foundation took place on Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the Oswald von Wolkenstein Hall (Kulturzentrum am Münster) and included a laudation, musical contributions and aperitif, as well as a lecture by the award winners.

A second joint summer school of the University of Pretoria (South Africa) and the University of Konstanz took place in April 2018 under the title "Narratives of Origin and Founding Myths". The summer school grows out of the long-term cooperation of the master’s courses "Cultural Foundations of Europe" (Konstanz) and "African-European Cultural Relations" (Pretoria). Students, doctoral candidates and representatives of both courses took part in the summer school.

Film on 10 years of Konstanz European Studies now online
The film "10 Years of European Studies in Cultural Studies at the University of Konstanz" documents the development of Konstanz's European research and teaching from its beginnings to the present day.

As part of the #dreamjob poster exhibition at the KGE anniversary celebration and alumni meeting on July 6, 2019, four other former KGE students took part in the project and gave individual insights into professional life after completing their M.A. in "Cultural Basics of Europe".
