God of all comfort and advice, we pray for those who are grieving and shaken by the sudden loss of loved ones. We bring before you those who are known to us and those who are vulnerable and frightened - the infirm, the sick and the elderly. God of consolation, you are mighty and merciful; may this be our prayer -

Jehovah Rapha, God who heals, we pray for medical professionals who face the intense pressures of this crisis every day. Grant them resistance to exhaustion, insight into the diagnosis, and empathy about compassion as they care for the sick. We thank you for the army of researchers who steadily and quietly work towards a cure - give them clarity, perspective and unexpected breakthroughs today. God arise as the sun of righteousness with healing rays above this present darkness. May this be our prayer -

God of wisdom, we pray for our leaders: the World Health Organization, national governments, and also local leaders - heads of schools, hospitals, and other institutions. You have put these people in public service for this hour, and we ask you to grant them wisdom beyond their own wisdom to contain this virus, belief beyond their own belief to fight panic, and strength beyond theirs own strength to maintain vital institutions in this time of unrest. God of wisdom and advice, you are mighty and merciful; may this be our prayer -

I bless you with the words of Psalm 91: “Yes, he saves you 'like a bird' from the birdcatcher's net, he saves you from the deadly plague. He covers you protectively with his wings, under his wings you will find security. His loyalty gives you cover, it is your shield that protects you. You do not need to fear the horror of the night or the arrows that are shot during the day, nor the plague that goes around in the dark, nor the plague that rages in the middle of the day.
